Unwanted screen change when the DI 0.4 chnges from 0 to 1.

Here it is: In my project ( it is a machine with one main door)I control several safety components before I start the production cycle. So I have for instance"Emergency Stop OK",that comes at DI 0.0and "Door closed" , that is DI 0.4. My problem is that every time when my DI 0.4 changes from 0 to 1(closing the door) myvisualisationgoes to start screen (screen number 1). I cannot find where and how it is happening. I cannot find any place in the softwarewhere the state of digital inputDI 0.4 could influence the currently activated screen. Four times in process ( thus in the software) I want to activate particular screen, when certain bit becomes high. I use then a variable (DB6.DBW38)wchich is my HMI tag,inthe Properties of this tag I use function Events--> Change Value --.ActivateScreenByNumber. When I want to activate screen number 40 then I move value 40 into my variable and it works fine, at the moment of enabling MOVEfunction my screen number 40 is activated.. Could something cause thet value 1 is written into the DB6.DBW38 when DI0.4 becomes 1? It is an old project so some old stuff could be still not completely removed (that could be rather some settings, software is probably OK I think). Any suggestions are welcome.

Hello , If you are using STEP7 for S7300 and s7400, you have option of monitoring effect of mentioned input "DI0.4" on "DB6.DBW38" by using variable tables.Other PLCs also have the capability to monitor the internal variables. If you are sure that this change happens, trace the logic for possible inadvertent writing values.Also check the following topic for a detail discussion to trace variables in S7 program: indirect adress tracking Best regards Hamid Hosseini

ALGUDKAR RAO Posts: 621 Rating: (10)	hello your tag calling is word type just traceout the tag wher is assgned in HMI invertbit for eg: DB10.DBW0 inthere any bit you have used trace out.

I always try to post the description of the solution, my problem is that very often I start something and before it is finished I have to do something else and I go back to the previous job after six or twelve months... ASTECH Posts: 45 Rating: (0)	Hallo all, It is finally solved ! It took a while, but I have my answer. I took your advice first, I tried to track back the influence of the I0.4 on the value of DB6.DBW38. I used Go to --> Location with "Overlapping access to memory areas", I looked what is happening in the Variable Table, and so on. In the PLC software I could not find anything on this way leading to the solution. Later I thought : If my DB6.DBW38 is responsible for this change, by changing the screen number I will solve it. I did try this and also made another screen that I used as a start screen, but still anytime when I0.4 became high visualisation returned to start screen. Finally I found that when my I0.4 becomes low I trigger an alarm :"Door not closed" and in the properties of this Discrete alarmI found, that under the option Event -->Deactivate I activate start screen. That was it! So when I0.4 becomes high, alarm is deactivated, so I activate start screen. Thank you all for your support and till the next "problem"
