S_Pulse Timer, Definition of BI

Aligasifier Posts: 30 Rating: (0)	Hello all together, I'm programming sth. where I need timers and I'm always getting errors when I'm introducing the variables. I think that my definition of BI is faulty. But thats just a suggestion of me. As datatype of the BI I defined the MW101 as WORD in the symbol table. In the attachment you can see the errors I'm getting. How can I fix the problem? FUNCTION_BLOCK "Timer" VAR_INPUT UnserBesterTimer:S5TIME:=T#0S; Start_Counter:BOOL:=0; Counter_Output:BOOL:=0; END_VAR VAR_OUTPUT END_VAR BEGIN Start_Counter:=1; UnserBesterTimer:= S_PULSE( T_NO := "Alicia", S := Start_Counter, TV := T#20s, R := BI := MW101, Q := Counter_Output ; Start_Counter:=0; END_FUNCTION_BLOCK The Error(s): Have a look at the attachment, please. Please wait for other answers, I'm not actually familiar with SCL) Regarding you problem, BI output means remaining timer value in integer with WORD data type. I think problem is just syntax, and therefore somebody familiar with SCL can help you better)

But what do you mean in the green comments? -Start_counter needs to be activated for example from Win CC? -Now the parameter BI has no error, but I am not using the Mark MW100, bi_aus is being saved in the instance DB linked to the FB as a WORD data type.Should I creat also the mark100?In this case I dont understand how. And I got a generel question: the prurpose why I want to implement the timer is to do a process like: "Do this, then wait (for example) 10 sec, then do that, There is perhapes an easier way to realize that? do I need to do that with the timer? My first thought was that it's waiting automatically but it doesn't. Any ideas? Thank you so much

hdhosseini Diamond Expert Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 10/26/2024 Posts: 6852 Rating: (1365)	Hello again, There are some points to be shared regarding your feedbacks: Trigger inside an FB is a bit stange except if you have a reason for that.Normally trigger can be a signal from process or generated internally. I generally use merkers with even numbers but to make a function block re-usable, I avoid using global merker in it. For the rest of the question, I should ask it to be split as a new question.
