I Operate CPU315F-2PN/DP & ET-200M Interface.

I want to implement PROFIsafe, but I can't find PROFIsafe.

I wonder how to set up PROFIsafe and  use fail safe.

Is it a different protocol? or do I download Safe Evaluation Tool? 

What should I do?

Are you using S7-distributed Safety software? Or Step 7 Safety Advanced software?

In properties of CPU, go to Protection. Set a password and select the option: CPU contains safety program

Profisafe is similar to Profibus but in addition, it has safety features like frame, signatures asd self tests.

You should install following software in sequence-

1. For F-system-

CFC, F-configuration pack and S& F systems and F-library. This is used for process applications.

2. For distributed safety-

F-configuration pack and Distributed safety. This is used for machine or factory automation.

Make sure that the version compatibility among these software.

I Download F-System & distributed Safety.

I tried to find ProfiSafe... In H/W Configue, I set my CPU Protect, set password. So I can see F_FBDs.

But I have some questions.

1. What is F_Configuration pack? Is it included in F-System? or Is it similar to H/W Config?

2. When I use Fail_Safe, Do I must use CFC? I have never used CFC....

1. Yes, Configuration pack is related to hardware configuration. It provides F-relevant parameterization  available in HW confi. after installation. 

2. You have to use either F-systems or distributed safety. For F systems, CFC is compulsory. For Dist. safety, u can use F-LAD or F-FBD.

 Note that the F-configuration pack included in the Distributed safety is probably not the latest. The F-configuration pack is released separately from distributed safety and the distributed safety just took whatever version of F-configuration pack was available when it was released. It's good to keep the F-configuration pack up to date manually.

Another note: The PROFIsafe is not only for profibus, but also for profinet. Whenever you have a safety component in the HW config, it automatically communicates with the safety PLC using profisafe.

Note that even if you have safety program and safety IO in the system, it does not make the system safe. Safety programming is not to be taken up lightly.
