USB PC Adapter not working

efraustro Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	josemiall Hello! I installed Step 7 v5.5 on my Windows 7 several weeks ago and I haven't been able yet to connect online to PLCs with the usb pc adapter. The problem is that when I try to select the USB conection in the "Local Connection" tab of the PG/PC selection window, it only appears the COM1 option. I have read in the forum that the Step 7 v5.5 has implemented de usb drivers for the PG/PC but how can I select it?? Do I need to activate it or do something special?? Many thanks in advance!! I have Windows Xp Sp3, Step 7 5.5 and i have a s7-414h blank from factory. So i need to download the first HW Config via MPI and then work via Industrial Ethernet. However i have no connection and keeps telling me to check cabling or media. im using PC Adapter 6ES7-0cb20-0xa0 v1.2 from my engineering station to the PLC directly with no results. As a second option i have a windows Xp Sp2 virtual machine where i started to develop my program and runs under Windows 7. Using a virtual machine affects the behavior of the PC ADAPTER? In my PC adapter i have MPI, POWER, USB leds lit and i have no idea why Auto test is not working in PG/PC interface. This thing is driving me crazy. PC MPI ADDR = 0 DEFAULT PLC ADDR = 2 MPI DEFAULT SPEED 18x.5 kbps ( i dont remember it exactly) any ideas? Probably my PC ADAPTER is ruined :p thnx in advance.

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (264)	As i can understand you have USB adapter. Please verify that you have proper setting in Local tab in Setting PC/PG. What's on the other side of adapter - i mean PLC or what?

pancho23 Member Joined: 9/26/2018 Last visit: 2/28/2023 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	hola necesito ayuda en mi pc tengo instalada la v5.4 descargue el controlador de esta página segun la descripción en la interfaz 6E7 972-0CB20-0XA0, al conectar y configurar PG-PC elijo pcPCadapter MPI, pero al darle comunicación, NO se comunica y me lanza un error que "no ha encontrado el módulo en el cual desea comunicarse", mi notebook es un IBM, tengo instalado el win xp titan sp3, también e probado con PCadapter AUTO pero sin resultados positivos, de antemano muchas gracias

Willybong Silver Member Joined: 2/11/2015 Last visit: 11/15/2024 Posts: 467 Rating: (34)	Hi Pancho, You need to revise: 1.- The port COM that are using. 2.- LEDs from the PG-PC adapter, are they correct. 3.- Maybe you've other PORT on CPU, you could try to communicate with it. We could help more if you specify what CPU you're trying to communicate.
