Sentron powermanager reporting issues

Renay Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hi, I'm having a really tough time with this power manager. We have 10 PACs, some are PAC3200 others PAC4200, I followed the procedure and addressed each of them ... So far it's all good, when I "start communication" with the PACs it's OK. Then the second part was the reporting. I followed the getting started pdf and tried to apply what I read at the same time. The thing is, we're not connected to mesure anything just yet, the client wants all the devices ready so that we will waste min time on site. When I try the "Insert DP" it says : unable to Inster DP Plus I keep having the "No ConfigFile" for the PVSS, I checked and tried executing the batch file but at the middle it says "failed to install", I moved the activex files to the System32 but nothg. What is wrong?

Valli Posts: 262 Rating: (45)	Hi, Pls refer the attach document for genrating reports... custmoer specific. Instead of trying your own report just follow the steps given here in the attached document, genrate this kind of report first and then try for your own/ specific one. Its very good support system available for SPM in Germanay, so please contact them thru' my support option available here in this site. Renay Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hello Valli, Thank you for your answer but I actually did follow the getting started pdf step by step. My question is : is it because there is no data to show? Like I said, we are just doing the basics here (like adressing, testing the connections) before movings the PACs and the Server to the client side, so we haven't been measuring anything just yet. Speaking of which, our longest distance is 270m with the Ethernet Cat 6 do the job or should I switch to RS-485? Thank you! Rania

You need to introduce one unmanged switch after 100meter of cable, no need to switch to RS485 becasue it has slower baud rate and in any case you have to bring all the data to ethernet. Now, For communication you have to go in device configuration and start communication for one meter.... just check as it is shown in the attachement. If it starts communicating, then do the exercise what is writtent in the previous doc which i send.... Hope your Windows configuration, excel etc is strictly as per the guideline given. But once I start the report configuration, alarms start coming out, which is frustrating because I'm stuck at this level : first the ConfigFile and then "unable to insert DP" So if you could guess where did those probs come from I'll be really gratefull because even the support center aren't of much help!! Renay Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hi! Problem solved this morning. I followed the instructions in the PDF, and executed the bat files as admin and all the other requirements. After all that I still had one "error msg" but the cause of THAT problem was MS EXCEL! I'm using Excel 2010 so I had to run "repair" and restart my computer and then it was solved. Thank you so much for your help!!
