WinCC Redundancy problems

Globe Posts: 28 Rating: (1)	Hi there, This is my first project where I use the redundancy package. I have 2 servers which act as stand-alone. No clients is involved. They are connected to each other via tcp-ip. I have no problems to setup the configuration in the redundancy configuration dialog in WinCC. My problem occurs when I start up my partner scada after I first started up the master Scada. During the start up of the partner scada it stops when I come to "Initializing archive managment" for "Alarm LoggingRuntime". The only work around is to make a reset of theWinCC application and uncheck redundancy. The same happens with the master scada if I first have started up partner scada. I am using WinCC 7.0 with SP1and the optional packages for redundancy. The servers have Windows 2003 software. Anyone who have I a tip on this issue. /Peter

Perhaps you are right that I do not understand what redundancy but I think you have to agree thatit is a problem when one system hangs during start up. Globe Posts: 28 Rating: (1)	Hi Kenan, The stationsare bought from Siemens and have 1 Gigabyte ram. Max waiting time was about 12 hour.I use theprogram Project duplicator when I transfer my project to the other computer. I assume that should be enough regarding this *.pck file. The time synchronisation is interesting. For time being I have set up so the clocks in the cpu is synchronized but not the two operator station. I can see that they have a time different. How should the time synchronisation be set up in a application like this? Normally we dont use this type of equipment but in this project it was a customer demand.As I wrote in my first post this is my first redundancy application and also theh-system is new for me. Just now I¨m working after the concept "Learning by doing"

Perhaps it takes longer to synchronize your Archives and Alarms because of there are many datas to synchronize!? Did you use the Alarm-Synchronization in your Redundancy Project?

kenan_kapidzic Posts: 35 Rating: (0)	wow 12 hours...... you need to set up the time synchronization for the two servers......... in WinCC Explorer double click the Time synchronization option......... in the Time sycnhronization window of the master server all you have to do is make sure that the "Deactivate time synchronization" option is un-checked then click OK........ in the Time synchronization window of the standby server un-check the "Deactivate time synchronization" option, do check the "Synchronization via Terminal Bus", select the "Use the time from a specific computer" option and find the master server to add it as "Computer 1"....... Also when you set up the Redundancy make sure you check all of the "Optional Settings"......... i hope that helps............

I set up the configuration accordingyour instructions but I still have this 30 seconds diff between my master- and partner scada when I arriwed this morning to my office. Can it be something in the Windows 2003 software thats prevent other computers to make changes in the system?
