DearDaniel Chartier I've read your posts about making communication between SIPROTEC Relays and S7 CPUs. It seems you are well aware about this topic.I have the same challenge to communicate data between SIPROTEC4 relay 7SJ647 and S7 414 CPU. My configuration tools are Degsi 4.8 and SIMATIC PCS7 V8.1. The relay is equipped with PROFIBUS DP and IEC61850 (EN100) interfaces. I want to read alarm/event logs from SIPROTEC device, receive it in CPU 414 and finally show it in a WinCC Station AlarmControl. For our application, it's necessary to transfer original SIPROTEC Time Stamp data with each alarm/event and send it to monitoring (WinCC station). What do you suggest for such application? Sincerely ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello Nahoo; From your description, I do not believe that Profibus-DP will be convenient for you, the Profibus mappings of the Siprotec relays do not give you access to the alarm/event logs from SIPROTEC device. IEC 61850, to my knowledge, does allow access to the alarm/event logs, though a GOOSE request. For the S7-400 CPUs Siemens offered an add-on IEC 61850 MMS driver for IEC 61850 (part no. 9AE4110-2AB00), but it was removed from the catalog a few years ago without replacement. https://mall.industry.siemens.com/mall/en/ca/Catalog/Search/?searchTerm=9AE4110-2AB00&tab=Product One option would be this library for IEC 61850 for WinCC (it also works with PCS 7): Having the driver directly on WinCC would make it easy to link the tags from the Siprotec relay to the alarm messaging of WinCC. Try contacting the Competence Center Karlsruhe, developpers of that IEC 61850 diver, explain you are trying to read the alarm/events log of a Siprotec relay and ask tham about this functionnality. This would be the best way of having all your queries answered. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Dear Daniel Thank you so so much for your help. I have described the challenge for Karlsruhe, developers and waiting for their response. Thanks again... Sincerely Nahoo |
