Use OPC client app to retrieve the alarm and event message already defined on the WINCC

Hi we would like to retrieve the WINCC alarm and events message. The software is PCS7 V7,1 SP2. I was told to use the Connectivity Pack

1. Make WINCC station as OPC UA server

2. Connectivity Pack will allow WINCC to store the alarms to external database server

Also there is another package called Industrial Data Bridge. 

We would like to use our OPC client app to retrieve the alarm and event message already defined on the WINCC. Are the Connectivity Pack or Data Bridge the correct solution or any other suggestion? It will be very much appreciated if you can give some advice and the links to the documents to help us to make a correct decision.
