How can do a "text wrap" on my " static Text " object

Atemp Posts: 41 Rating: (1)	I linked my tag (string tag) to the Font property of the Static text object. The value of the tag is 32 character but my which in runtime will only display what ever fits on the object depending on how wide my static text object is. I cannot make this object wide just to fit all 32 character because of my project specifications. so the only option I have to to do a "Wrap text". Can someone help me out on this. Thanks in advance.

If so, you should have someting like this in the text property of your static text [code]Function Text_Trigger(ByVal Item) Dim StaticTextObj Dim TextTag Dim UpperRT Dim LowerRT Set TextTag = HMIRuntime.Tags("PLC\DB\TEXT_VAR") Set StaticTextObj = HMIRuntime.ActiveScreen.ScreenItems.Item("StaticText1") UpperRT = Left(TextTag.read, 16) LowerRT = Right(TextTag.read, 17) StaticTextObj.Text = UpperRT & vbNewLine & LowerRT End Function[/code] and, of course, ajust the function trigger to the Text tag. Atemp Posts: 41 Rating: (1)	Thank you Phantom75 and thank you rogermann, I applied the VBcode to my Static Text object and the text wrap work. However, it double display the value. For example. my static text object size is 65 by 45 (W/H) and the value of the tag is only7 character (The values of the PLC tag varies from 3 character to 32 characters), then the display on the static text object would show something like this: 12ADC78 12ADC78 what should I do to correct the display? and what do i add to the code to make it 3 lines? Thanks again for the help.

For instance, you can use the function above only if the string have more than X chars using [code] 'example for 10 chars if len(StringTag.read)>=10 then <execute code above> else <just put the string on the io field> end if [/code] to make in more than 2 layers, in my opinion you can use the the mid vb function. This function syntax is mid (string, start, size). So, if you have a string like this: StringTag = "WinCC is easier than you thought" and you use [code] Dim StaticTextObj ' SCREEN OBJECT Dim Text ' TEXT Tag Dim Upper Dim Midle Dim Lower Set Text = HMIRuntime.Tags("TEXT") Set StaticTextObj = HMIRuntime.ActiveScreen.ScreenItems.Item("StaticText2") Upper = Mid(text.Read, 1, 8) Midle = Mid(text.Read, 9, 13) Lower = Mid(text.read, 21) StaticTextObj.Text = Upper & vbNewLine & Midle & vbNewLine & Lower [/code] your output will be WinCC is easier than you thought Best regards and thank you for rating the answer
