How to Add a WINCC RT SCADA to existing project

Jayesh vv Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I am having existingS7400H project with WINCC RC SCADA. Now customer requires to add one more OS WINCC RT to the project. As i am new to WINCC i don't find how to add one more OS to the Project in WINCC Project Explorer. Please help to get the procedure to do it. As all the graphics and tags are in Main SCADA, how to refer and show it in new OS WINCC RT. Thanks in Advance.

Jayesh vv Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Dear Cumulus, Thanks for your response.....but the help is about integrating another WINCC Project in STEP7...........................however in my case WINCC RC+STEP7 are already there in SCADA..........................and i am going to add one more SCADA WINCC RT.....so in this case i have to refer the existing project graphics tags etc...in new added scada. So how to do that, is my concern.......................whether to copy past the project from WINCC Explorer of existing SCADA to new SCADA or to refer the path of existing SCADA from New SCADA in network.

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi Jayesh, Are you trying to turn a server-client system into a redundant servers-client system? If you have a stand-alone SCADA and PLC's, and wish to add another stand-alone station then adding the new SCADA is adding a new project. The new SCADA will need a project of it's own, even if the application is identical to the first one. So you'll need to add the new project in SIMATIC manager. Best regards, Danielle

As i am going to add one more SCADA RT Station.....I have to copy the project of existing SCADA and put it in added SCADA, so the same graphics and tags will be visible from new SCADA. Thanks again. uel123 Gold Member Joined: 1/29/2006 Last visit: 12/16/2025 Posts: 451 Rating: (65)	Hi Jayesh, if I understand your question properly, the simplest sollution would be establishing of Server -- Client configuration on your System. Existing SCADA RC would now be a WinCC server, new station would become a WinCC Client. See the Help system of WinCC (WinCC information system -> Configuration -> Multi-User Systems -> Client/Server scenarios). Unfortunatly, some licencing is requiered (WinCC Server licence on Server and minimum RT licence on client), but this is the fastest way. Have fun! uel123

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, A server-client is suitable, but you'd need a server license... and if the server fails you'll lose all data both on server and client... sometimes we use 2 stand-alone stations for smaller systems, to ensure availability. In this case, when using PCS 7 you can use application ref, but I'm not sure you have this in SCADA. If not, you'd use the same application, but on different projects. Just keep in mind that even though the applications are the same, you need to configure the station name and system parameters again. Best regards, Danielle
