WinCC 7.4 Sp1 cannot create connection to the PLC

I have upgraded a WinCC project from 7.0 to 7.4 and moved it from a WinCC 7.0 installed on a Windows 7 PC to a a to a WinCC 7.4 SP1 installed on a Windows server 2012.

I have checked that I can ping the PLC and I have set the PG/PC setting to use the same netcard.

I have set he Logical Device Name under System Parameter under TCP/IP under Tag Management the S7Online card.

But still the TCP/IP connection to KALEC01PLC01 (the PLC) keeps saying that is it not connected and all the signals remain  unresolved. What can be wrong?.

On a suggestion from this forum I tried deleting the *.dcs from that project but that just made the project impossible to open.

Another suggetions says "you must install Simatic Net but you don't need make some setting" but why is that not installed with WinCC and how do I check if I have it and if not how do I add it now?

But when I look in that folder there is no CCS7PlusChannel_01.LOG there - what has happened?

I am attaching all the log files found in that folder on the new WinCC PC hoping someone can help me find a solution.

My Support Request to Siemens solved the problem for me.

I had to install SimaticNet from the 7.1 SP1 package (which is V14).

 As I said - after I installed Simatic Net it seems to work. The Simatic Net SW was not delivered with my WinCC License since it was a downloadable license. Not sure if it matters in this context but it was also a "just" an upgrade license (7.2 > 7.4).

I do not recall using any "Station Configurator" - how can I check if something is missing?

You need to install Simatic Net that comes with your WinCC License. Also in Station Configurator you need to add WinCC Application and a IE General.
