Very Slow faceplate WinCC v 7.5

Hello everyone, currently my faceplates are taking too long to open.

Initially I had my system in Hyper-V, and in this, my faceplates took between 12 and 15 seconds to open.

I changed the system to VMWare ESXi following the PCS7 V9.1 SP1 virtualization manuals (you can see it at this link) and respecting the mentioned hardware as described below:

For 1ES, 1 OSS (server) and 2 OSC (Clients)

Processor: 2.6GHz / 16 Cores
Hard drive configuration: RAID10
Hard disk capacity for each virtual machine: According to the manual
RAM memory: ES = 16gb, OSS = 16gb, OSC1 = 8gb, OSC2=8gb
Graphics memory: 64 Mb for each virtual machine


With the hardware mentioned above, my faceplates are responding as follows:

Screen with < 30 Faceplate / Block Icons

APL PID: 4 - 5.5 Seconds
APL Valves On-off: 3.5 Seconds
APL Motors: 3.8 seconds
APL Analog Monitor: 2.5 Seconds

Screen with > 30 Faceplate / Block Icons

APL PID: 7.2 Seconds
APL Valves On-off: 4.5 Seconds
APL Motors: 4.3 seconds
APL Analog Monitor: 2.8 Seconds

When I change the WinCC view to classic, the performance improves:

APL PID: 3.5 Seconds
APL Valves On-off: 3.2 Seconds
APL Motors: 3.3 seconds
APL Analog Monitor: 2 Seconds

The tests and times mentioned above were using PLCSIM, not a Physical PLC, in this way I discard everything related to the network or the characteristics of my AS.

What else can I do to improve performance?


I am using APL 9.1, WinCC V7.5, there are no scripts, there are no errors in Apdiag, the resource monitor is fine, there is no excessive consumption.

do you use the latest Update Version for your used WinCC Version or Servicepack?

Often in Updates there have been improvements in Performance issues also.

Check also the Performance monitor in Windows, are there any processes or tasks that uses large amount of system performance?
