Some manufacturers install connectivity files *inside* the drive or it's characterization memory card. I do not know, but it is always a good place to start if such a thing is possible. If the device has a web server built in, have a look. If it came with software on disc, look there first. If it was purchased "as is" (rather than new in box), definitely contact Sanyo Denki directly via their web site.
