Same or different URL for Primary & redundant WinCC OPC UA Server

Hi Guys,

   A doubt has been asked by my Sales Team which is- whether same or different URL will exist for Primary & secondary/redundant WinCC OPC UA Server.

   Client has proposed for a redundant WinCC OPC UA Server, so would like to know about its URL to figure out means of communication.

P.S.: I did surfing online but couldn't get any information over it, hence seeking assistance here.

Based on the pdf doumentation file that accpanies ths article redundant OPC UA servers must be configured with different URLs and PC names.

Note however that the article details the requirements for redundant OPC UA servers on a WinCC Advanced system, you will have to give us more details on your present installation if you would require more help.

   Thank You!! And apologies, would be using WinCC Explorer 7.4 in Server- Client environment, where-in there would be 2 number of Servers- one would be primary & the other would act as Redundant.

I have two cases study for you

1. With the redundant WinCC , we install KepServerEx or Cogent Datahub Redundancy in a dedicated OPC station and connect to all the WinCC for data sharing. 

2. In PCS 7 WinCC environment, we install OpenPCS 7 in dedicated OPC Station for data sharing with redundancy functionality.
