S7-300 Power supply in Extension Rack

Lucky123 Gold Member Joined: 12/20/2008 Last visit: 9/3/2025 Posts: 556 Rating: (237)	Is it required to purchase a separate power supply in the Extension Rack, I am using a 24V 5 Amp power supply, in the primary chassis, and I am using, CPU-315-2PN, CP341, 3 8pt AI, 3 8pt. RTD, 1 4pt AO, 3 24VDC DI, 3 24VDC DO. I think the main chassis power supply, should be sufficient to handle the load of both chassis, Still I would like to know will I need another power supply module, even if I am using as many modules as mentioned above.

Lucky123 Gold Member Joined: 12/20/2008 Last visit: 9/3/2025 Posts: 556 Rating: (237)	Hi, Just looked at the FAQ, it seems that IM365 does not transfer the Communication bus from Rack 0 to Rack1, thats good to know, however I am still unsure weather 800 mA will be sufficeint for 3 DI & 3 DO, (both 16 pt 24 VDC), If you can let me know about this?

naah Posts: 76 Rating: (8)	Hi, As it is written in ST70, each DI16 needs 25 mA and DO16 needs 80 mA. So, it seems 800 mA is enough! Good luck!
