GOOSE in 7SJ82 devices with different firmware

In an expansion of a substation, the new 7SJ82 relays have the v9.71 firmware and ETH-BB-2FO rev.2 communication module.

The older relays have a combination of v8.60 and v9.5 firmware. The substation is active.

I want to receive a GOOSE signal from a 7SJ85 relay with the v9.50 firmware version, that is equiped with the ETH-BB-2FO rev.1 communication module. I have made the rootings in the IEC System Configurator and I have uploaded the new configuration to the devices but I still cannot receive the signal.

The older relays give and receive the GOOSE signals without any problem after the update of the configuration. The new relays communicate with GOOSE, it is just the communication between the old and new relays that cannot be established

Is this happening because of the different modules or the different firmware? Is there any solution? Can an update to the older firmwares resolve this communication problem?

It could be a compatibility issue between firmware and module versions. Updating the older relays to v9.71 might help, but check if Pearl Lemon Commercial Repairs has dealt with similar cases first.
