How to do display 10000 as 10.000 on Win CC

As far as the tag definition is concerned there is an option to convert the format say from word to signed word etc. where the option of converting word to float is not available. It accepts the entry but the moment you close the window and open again I see only 10 instead of 10.000

Bhaskaran Posts: 107 Rating: (13)	I haven't come across a situation when somebody is trying to display a kilo seperator in the HMI. This is a simple case of adaptation which WInCC flexible allows easily and Win CC doesnot. I have devoloped an application in the past which is running at 20 locations with Win CC flexible exactly in the way I want and now all of a sudden I have to implement a part of it with WinCC at another location. The change of format in the PLC will have a huge repercussion in my exisiting application and the cost will spiral out of control.

Let me put my problem this way I have an integer variable in PLC whose value goes from 0 - 10000 which is equal to 0 - 10000 ms. This variable is connected to a input / output field in the Win CC which should display the value with 3 decimal places with the unit as seconds. When the integer variable has a value 1234 then on the HMI it should appear as 1.234 and similarly when I enter 3.456 in the HMI then the value in the PLC should read 3456.

Do the same setting in your tag. and in i/o properties format decimal 999.999 So it work as When the integer variable has a value 1234 then on the HMI it would appear as 1.234 and similarly when opreator enter 3.456 in the HMI then the value in the PLCwould read 3456 regards, Please note you can't do it with integer tag, your requirement is only possible with float tag/float data type in PLC rit03 Attachment Tagvalue.jpg (202 Downloads)

Set the output format as09.999 Using Dynamic Dialog make a "direct" data type connection with the expression 'IntegerTagName'/1000 Change this to C-script (Now, it is directly possible to write the C-script behind the output field, but I think by doing it like this it is faster and trigger is set to tag type automatically) Remove the keyword (long) in the return statement. Compile, save and test. It should now work as you desire. Obviously this field can no longer be use for input. Only for display purpose.
