All the time i get ''invalid module address.Enter a correct value'' Attachment MODULE ADDRESS.JPG (665 Downloads)

H-H Platinum Member Joined: 7/2/2008 Last visit: 8/7/2025 Posts: 928 Rating: (309)	Hello AHMED , When you press F1 on module address in PLCSIM you will read the following, PLCSIM help Module Address The module address in which the error occurred is the logical base address of the module: it is the first input, if any; otherwise first output address. (Example: PIB 0) So, write PIB0 instead of 0 and it will work. Best regards. H-H

Ahmed Ganainy Experienced Member Joined: 8/22/2009 Last visit: 3/23/2025 Posts: 42 Rating: (1)	ENG H-H really thank you for your interest and fast response the problem i'm facing in profinet io network. plcsim only test profinbus DP subnet (according to my efforts in plcsim). but i couldn't test profinet io subnet i don't know is this right my question does anyone test interrupts OBs in profinet (ET200S for example) all the times i was working with profibus DP and these OBs are ok and i test them many times. but this time my project is 3200 IOs distributed with ET00S and 2 cpu 315-2PN/DP. sothat diagnostic is very important to me in installation and also in operation after that. my Question again is these blocks tested in Profinet io subnet and is plcsim cabable of test them in profinet io?

Ahmed Ganainy Experienced Member Joined: 8/22/2009 Last visit: 3/23/2025 Posts: 42 Rating: (1)	I downloaded all Profinet IO diagnostics samples from siemens and test them. i findout that plcsim is not cabable of test interrupts(OB82, OB83, OB86 and in turn SFC 52,54) on profinet IO subnet(only profibus).

I tried to find any piece of information regarding this matter and the only thing I could find was in the PLCSIM manual. PLCSIM manual page39 S7-300 CPUs The project PI/PQ information is required to be able to simulate error and interrupt OBs in S7-PLCSIM. The majority of CPUs in the S7-300 family configure the I/O themselves. If a module is connected to the controller, the CPU automatically detects the module. It is not possible to replicate the autoconfiguration feature with a simulated PLC. If you download a program to S7-PLCSIM from an S7-300 CPU that autoconfigures I/O, the system data does not include an I/O configuration. Therefore, you must first of all download to the system data a hardware configuration with configured I/O modules. This way you can define which CPU modules should be made available. To do this, create a project and configure a S7-300 CPU in which the I/O are not automatically configured, e.g. the CPU 315-2DP, CPU 316-2DP or the CPU 318-2. Download this hardware configuration to the S7-PLCSIM. Then you can download the program blocks from any S7 programs. The I/Os are applied error-free. I hope Siemens will fix it in next release of PLCSIM. Best regards. H-H
