OBA8 "PURE/NON-LCD": transfer program from Micro-SD at Power on time.

SC67 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I am familiar with the 0BA6 "non lcd" units. I used the mem/Batt cards to transfer my program and then placed them in the 0BA6 unit and powered it on. The programs transferred nicely. As soon as I saw there was 0BA8 available with same physical size and ethernet, I bought one and upgraded my SoftComfort SW. I have read manuals and searched for posts but my problem is that I an unable to make the 0BA8 NON-LCD unit install my program from the micro-SD after a power cycle. I have succussfully transferred this program via "transfer" in Softcomfort interface with ethernet cable. If I modify the program on my PC and save it to Micro-SD as LSC or BIN file, then place it in the 0BA8 and power cycle, the program is not loaded by the device. I have formatted the card as FAT32 on my Windows 7 PC. Surely I'm making a basic mistake, any help appreciated. -cheers

ixo65 Grandmaster Joined: 12/18/2014 Last visit: 1/15/2026 Posts: 36458 Rating: (4550)	The program must be stored on the micro-SD card as a ".bin". However, the logo will only work with micro-SD cards up to 32 GB, formatted FAT32. And it must be micro-SD cards, no SDHC or any other.

SC67 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Thanks for your response ixo65, your post made me go back and retryeverything again Definitely a plain old 2GB MICRO-SD, formatted as FAT32. Though this time I reformatted and chose "default allocation unit size" instead of the offered 4096 in the win7 format window. Perhaps it is the same, who knows. I then created a quick program and transferred it to the BM via ethernet, and confirmed it was installed + working. I then made a few changes to the program, saved it as a BIN file on the micro-SD. I stopped the BM, powered it off, inserted the SD and powered it up. Success! I tried it with a few more programs and it worked each time. Interestingly I also checked the hardware type as you suggested and my earlier failed file was based on 0BA6. I have since updated it and it now transfers to the 0BA8 via the SD at power-on time as well. Thanks again.
