addressing IO with CPu315-2

rkosir Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hello, i have a problem addressing my I/Os. I would like to access my built in I/Os (4I/8O) and my additional I/Os (SM323 16DI/16DO). I checked under hardware config and it shows me that SM323 has starting addresses 0, and built it unit has addresses starting at 66. With SM323 it is also stated that it has process image OB1 PI, is this something i should also use when addressing? I am addressing it using Q0.0 for my first output, i put it to value 1, but it is still outputing 0V. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Rok

I may be out of touch with the latest models, but I don't remember seeing such IOs on this type of CPU. In any case, if the Hardware Config states that the SM 333 outputs have a starting address 0, then Q0.0 is a valid address and you should activate this module's first output... You did provide 24 VDC at pins 21 and 31, and ground connection at pins 30 and 40, didn't you? This is an essential connection for the outputs of an SM 323 module. Could you post a screenshot of your hardware configuration? It would clear up some thoughts we may have on your problem. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

GerardAmmerlaan Posts: 60 Rating: (1)	Hi there, If this sort of stuff happens, the best thing to do is to disconnect the cables and see if the LED's light up when sending something to the output. And if I'm not mistaken the on board I/O of the CPU 315T-2DP was reserved for the Technology chip. So you probably won't be able to address them with a simple"S Q 66.0". You may have to do some fiddling with SFC's if you want to access themfrom your standard OB1 programme. There should be some FAQ or some mentioning in the documentation about this.
