Reading AI2 input using S7 protocol

I am trying to read an Analog input tied to AI2. From Logo I see the value changing. I am trying to read it using S7 protocol from Kepware as well as Node read. Either case I am not able to read it. I am getting an error in Kepware  "Warning         Siemens TCP/IP Ethernet    Channel1.LOGO8 | Unable to read data from device. | Memory type = 'AI', block start = 2, block size = 2 (bytes), Reason = 'Device returned data access error'. Error code = 0X5."

Should I able to read the AI2 value remotely using S7 protocol. If so what could be the issue

Not knowing Kepware, my suggestion would be to see how the tag is configured and how it is used. If the tag is being used with read-write privileges - find a way to change it to read only.

Alternative: Send the AI to a network analog output. Then read the V-memory  linked to that. The below picture would suggest VW0, for example.

Read directly word from memory. AI1 is memory word VW1032 .
