EULER1313 Posts: 86 Rating: (1)	Hi All, Can the Webnavigtor Client run the WinCC Project when it is outside the WebNavigator server network (through Internet only)? Or they ^_must exist in the same network?

But they don't run full blown WinCC client projects, it's only a strip down graphic RT that lives inside IE process plus some mutant services that bridgeWinCC ACE DCOM to HTTP requests. WebNavigator Server runs IIS and have a mapped Internet static IP address and a DNS. Please read the documentation for WinCC WebNavigator. Dec

EULER1313 Posts: 86 Rating: (1)	Hi All, I could connect as a web navigator client from any computer from the network of the web navigator server by typing "http:\\x.x.x.x\webnavigator\" "x.x.x.x" is the IP of the server when i try to access that address from any computer outside the network i cann`t..... Must I write another formula? If yes What`s it?

You said it`s necessary router for NAT one-to-one IP address mappings sothe public IP address will translate into x.x.x.x but the router i have have many lan coonections what must i do in detail to access the project?

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	When you configure your Web Nav server, you setup the port used by IIS. This is by refault 80. You must use this port #to forward your public IP connection to be forwarded to x.x.x.x. This should divert all the incoming port 80 (assuming you left it as is) trafic to Webnav server. If you do not know how to do this, you can get help from your IT guys.

Traffic through the internet travels by IP Address and Port number. With a typical firewall or router setup all machines on a network use the same address looking like one machine from the outside. Every application uses a different port though. The default port for WebNavigator is 80, this is the best because it is assumed to be HTTP (Web Browser) traffic. Often this port is used by the company's Web Server etc. so a different port is required, I usually use 8080 in this case. You now have two IP Addresses to deal with, the IP Address of the computer running WinCC (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) and the IP Address of the public internet (yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy). The firewall router now needs to be configured to send any traffic coming into yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy using the port asigned to WebNavigator (80, 8080, ???) to the correct internal machine xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Also if you are not using port 80 the client computer will also have to specify the port as HTTP will only be assumed if 80 is used and in many cases the fill URL is needed including the "http://". (http://yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy:8080)
