CPU 1511-1 PN Connection

I have a question about integrating a new S7-1500 PLC (CPU 1511 PN) into an existing WinCC v7.3 SCADA application, as this is all somewhat new to me.

In the existing SCADA application, there’s a number of processors that are either communicating via SIMATIC S7 PROTOCOL SUITE (TCP/IP) or the SIMATIC S7-1200, S7-1500 Channel (OMS+). Is there a reason I should choose to create the connection to the new PLC in either one or the other?
