Simatic V5.3 cant view V5.4 archived file

Tissue Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I have an archived .zip file that was created in Simatic V5.4 by a vendor. We currently only have version 5.3. When I retrieve the file I get an HW update version conflict error message. Then I only have access to a few blocks in the program with no comments. Is there a way to view a program made in a later version of the software without updating our software?

Even after update the hardware catalog. Some of new component in V5.4 thats not in V5.3 but needs V5.4 for the new things that are installed in V5.4 then you couldn't use the hardware in the older version. Of course this depends what kind of hardware is used in this project but I suggest you, go and update your software. regards

Tissue Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I installed the Hardware Support Packages like you recommended and I can now view all the blocks. I'm still not sure if I'll be able to make edits and download to the PLC but I will find out when I get that far. Thanks for the support!
