CPU 414-3 PN/DP crashes HWConfig

CaptainFanatic Posts: 34 Rating: (2)	I am using Step7 on a HP laptop, and I am trying to configure a station in HWConfig (V5.4.3.1). I can insert a rack (400-JA01-0AA0), and a power supply (407-0KA02-0AA0) and everything is OK. When I insert a CPU 414-3 PN/DP into this rack hwconfig crashes. I have tried other CPUs and I have found that all CPUs work except for the PN/DP CPUs. I can insert these CPUs on a desktop PC. Can anyone suggest a fix? Thanks, Ben

CaptainFanatic Posts: 34 Rating: (2)	This issue was fixed with a reinstall of windows. I have found step 7 compatability issues with a number of machines that came with windows preinstalled. For me, the best approach when building a system is to always perform a complete reinstall with a minimum of drivers and third party applications before attempting a step 7 installation. Now if I would only follow my own advice
