Analog linear transducer as encoder for axis positioning

I was wondering if it was possible to do an axis positioning using a linear transducer (PLC analog input) as an encoder (as a position reference) applied to the mechanics driven by a motor. In the configuration of the tia portal technology object, there does not seem to be a solution for this. Has anyone ever faced this? Or can you show me a solution? Specify DB for the encoder type. Then you emulate the required encoder signals by writing to the DB. There is a guide to this somewhere. However, you need to tune the axis according to the limitations of this encoder - in terms of mechanical stiffness and electrical noise. Attachment PosAxis_LinearEncoder.zip (811 Downloads)

Fabio Locatelli Member Joined: 4/6/2021 Last visit: 9/6/2025 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello, I tried to process the analog signal as standard telegram 81 for axis positioning, according to the siemens MC-pre servo manuals indicated by you and in particular with SimpleEnc instruction. I think the procedure is correct but I don't read the right position value in the axis monitor. I think the problem is in defining the min and max values expressed in millimeters (as in SCALE_X). Thank you very much!
