How can make sure the firmware is being installed?

Hello.

i am also having the same issue with S7-1500. I have a port that is down on my switch that says "no partner could be detected" and "error on partner". i have downloaded the firmware but i don't think that my TIA v15.1 is taking the firmware update. how can i check this or make sure the firmware is being installed? 

Separate issue: the scalance switch that everything is connected to is saying "another instance of this device is online and showing a different status" this only happened after the first time i went online with it. i have tried everything and cannot get it to change.
