Can not upload PLC Tag from S7-1200 V4.2

If you are able, connect directly into the S7-1214 PLC via profinet cable to the TIA Portal PC.

Then there is absolutely no doubt which device you are connecting to.

Try using the flash the LEDs function of the PLC to ensure you are attempting to connect and upload from the correct PLC.

It seems like there are multiple PLCs and your first attempt connected to the incorrect PLC.

Connect also directly via X1 rather than PN/IE (profinet).

I meant in the TIA Portal connection configuration, select Direct to X1 instead of using the PN/IE connection option.

Yes, Actually, In physical i connect directly my computer with S7-1200.

NOTE: I have not tried this (recently).

Use the project tree, and scroll down towards the bottom of the tree.  Locate "Online access".  Expand that section.

Now for the network adapter connected to the S7-1200 V4.2 PLC, expand that section.

Ask it to update and scan for devices.

Once you locate your s7-1200 PLC, expand the Online access view until you find the PLC Tags section.  Click-and-Drag that from the online PLC to your offline S7-1200 project.

And it is really wierd, because when I go to online\offline comparsion between uploaded blocks and online blocks - I can see in online addresses and tags names, so, information about PLC tags is available online, but for some reason there is no way to upload tag table from S7-1200

That link may not help you, but it should confirm what you are seeing is as it should be.

I think Siemens offers solutions for this, perhaps via the cloud connector / project server and such pieces that essentially allow VPN in using the existing PC (or networking device) that stays connected to the controls / PLC network and does the discovery and forwarding.

I could be wrong of course.  Might be V16 or V17 only in case that matters.

FYI, S7-1200 Firmware 4.2 is vulnerable to some cyber attacks.  Siemens recommends installing the latest firmware in S7-1200 PLCs, and using whatever firmware is appropriate for your projects.

Unfortunately, at this moment I have only VPN access to PLC, and "Online acceess" section shows anything. But everything other works, including online/offline comparsion. And another thing - names of missed tags was uploaded in program blocks, but addresses was not. In S7-300/400 was vice versa :)
