s7 1200 encoder: calculate how many laps the engine has done

I need to calculate how many laps the engine has done that I want to do here. I'm new to these things. i am reading the encoder value from s7 1200, but I need to make it run and stop 10 turns at the beginning of each process, how do I do this. With a reset or some other way?
