From posts on the forum I am lead to believe that it is possible. If you try it out, will you please let us know? I assume you have to open the simulator first and then attempt to download from Step7 V18 to PLCSIM V17.

I'm pretty sure it would work, given that the PLCSIMs are trying to emulate the PLC, not the TIA version. You might just suffer with lack of integration between the two (i.e. TIA v18 will possibly only auto-launch PLCSIM v18, and not do this for PLCSIM v17). As noted by another, you might just need to launch PLCSIM manually first, and then rely on the PLCSIM / Ethernet network connectivity to link TIA and PLCSIM.
