Download and start project using external Tool/Code

Hello, 

I would like to do automated testing using PLCs from siemens. I am now currently in a research phase. I will need to use python (or something that will python be able to operate, C, C++ etc..), because the core now runs on robotframework which is a testing suite capable to run python scripts. Currently I have already found several libraries to use to communicate with the PLC to use GET/PUT commands for the data or I can even use OPCUA for the data transfer.

The problem now is that I need to successfully download and start a project to the device and then start to communicate. I did not find any examples, possible solutions to this problem. I have seen something with the Opennes, but I feel like this tool is just to create the project somewhere else than TIAPortal. 

Has anyone got any experience with this problem? Maybe I did not use the Opennes in a good way.
