How to use of FileRead and FileWrite

I am trying to understand the use of the FileWrite block so that after I can use the FileRead easily.

I also notice that the data type (according to the explanation in the online help) only accept BYTE.

Whereas the integer values i want to write are not byte. Can someone please explain better to me how i can write integer data to my file .

I will also like to understand better how to use the FileRead block because the explanation in the online help was not sufficient. If someone has a PLC program of the example, I will appreciate it.

This function expects a valid ASCII code of a char you wish to write to a file.

the fileWrite instruction is meant to write raw data in memory, you need to do a bit of data manipulation if you want save numbers (int).

using the function int_to_string() you can translate your numer to a string containing it.
the function Strg_TO_Chars() allows you to convert you string in an array of ascii bytes, where every byte will be one character oy your string.

alternatively you can work directly with numbers, by converting your ints to a word and dividing it into 2 bytes.

or you can use a non optimized DB and direct addressing to the single bytes

everything depends on how you plan to read/use this numbers.

Are you really shure you cant use the retain functionality in a DB if you want to access your data at a later time?
