Siemens TIA Portal V18 file opening issue

mmkhan Bronze Member Joined: 9/28/2007 Last visit: 12/16/2025 Posts: 250 Rating: (13)	I have a project build in v18. my friend give me this file, the file is opening in my friend PC but not opening in my pc i have Siemens TIA Portal V18 installed and update3 is also installed. when ever i open project. a message appear "Open Project Error(4600-000103)" " An Error occurred while opening the project. the project can not be opened with this software version. Maybe you can use the "original" V17 project and open this at your own system. Please check if this works. I try to open the project and became the same error with the additional information that the path of the project is wrong. Your friend should use the archiving of the TIA-portal so that you have a *.zap18 file. Maybe is there a problem with the archiving of the TIA-file. regards CaOd

You can ask Siemens if it´s possible to repair the project. STEP 7 (TIA Portal) creates copies from parts of older project data, which are managed intra-system by the TIA Portal. These files get extension backup. If you have these file, send it also to Siemens Support. Regards, Towome

mmkhan Bronze Member Joined: 9/28/2007 Last visit: 12/16/2025 Posts: 250 Rating: (13)	thanks to both experts. the project is opened. problem was there is a TMP file on root of project. i delete that file and now all good. can anyone help me . i have a task to understand the whole program and make a report on complete wokring of program how program is working from step 1 to last step. each and every thing i have to mention in my report so now guys if you can help me in this regard i highly appreciated your help. here on here on forum maximum 3mb file can be attached.guide me how to understand whole program complete working with comments and explanation. sir here is a link of 4shared you can download proejct from here and guide me which functions are built in and which are customizied. and when rogram start first what is check in program and then what step on second and so on . jest guide me sir pls help me this is my first task if i am fail in this task then no more work i can get from there. and i need this work. so help me. Administrator remove file link. Pkease tell me how can i send file larger than 3MB. Because i have a project file size 4.5MB [snip]
