Hi, hope this helps: For an S7-1200/S7-1500 controller in STEP 7 (TIA Portal), how do you scale integer values in real numbers and vice versa for analog inputs and outputs?Regards, Towome |

Since Siemens codes the provided SCALE instruction for S7-300/400/1500 PLCs in a closed-source manner, we cannot tell you what the code looks like. We can (and someone kindly already did) provide you with the expected way to scale analog values for S7-1200/1500 using NORM_X to normalize a range of values to 0.0 to 1.0, and then provides SCALE_X to accept the normalized range of values and convert to either user units, engineering units, VFD units, HMI scaling units, and so on. You can have a single NORM_X and provide that normalized output into several SCALE_X blocks to get several scaled values from the same source value. That option can reduce the amount of normalization calculations the PLC is required to do (a bonus) - if multiple scaled outputs are needed.
