flickering analog value in HMI

Hi All,

i am using S7-1200 & SM1231 AI for tank level. In HMI the process value readings are correct, but it flickering always. I changed the acquisition cycle from 100ms to 1 min, it reduce the flickering but the value become 0 at certain intervals. please find the attached. any idea how to avoid the flickering??

I recommend (to be familiar what is happen) make some tests. Your AI value from tank oscilate probably quickly so I recommend maybe change some filter in AI card. Play with this to have good acceptable results. Leave your settings on HMI as default referesh for first. You can also maybe implement yours filtering (range to accept new up/down change of level) to have good results. This means that I recommend use PLC converted TAG with own filtering or HMI value, not direct access to AI address.

Thanks for your comments.  I simulated the 4-20 mA input with  the process calibrator, the flickering remains same. sorry I didn't get you about the filtering. If you can explain will be great help.

eeeeeh now with calibrator info maybe i don't understand your situation, flickering is WHAT? Your AI value oscilates up/down or is some kind of display/visual problem? Can you better describe that situation?

I had the same problem one time ago, Try to put a DC Voltage Power Supply more bigger.

Hi,

with 1 min acquisition cycle, the process value reading (scale reading) in HMI became 0% at certain intervals.( if the process value is 50%, it became 0% for some time and back to 50%. it's happening continuously.)
