Event ID: 16# 02:2567

Hi all,

I've a following events generated from a ET200SP CPU, although it were cleared automatically but am curious what could be the root cause.

If I were to look at the message, it could be a writing error into DB311 but I do not have that particular DB in the CPU or the FB that the editor opened up does not use any DB311 addressing.

hope someone can advise on this. Much appreicated.

I've checked the FB in question but I don't see any references to DB311 even though there's are move function resided within.

I've attached the screenshot of the FB.

I can't be sure it's FB7 as well but when I click "Open in Editor" from the diagnostic buffer, it opens up FB7.

As the I've tried to mimic the instance DB of FB7 as global DB, the addressing does not reach offset 311 which i also suspected. Moreover, this error only appeared once recently as the system have been running since 2018.

I interpret the diag buffer entry differently.

In [FB7?] some location in your code, there is some DB referencing data at off 311 which apparently the PLC does not think exists.

Is it possible size of a DB is not checked before it is referenced indirectly?

My suggestion is to try and use symbolic addressing since you cannot address outside the bounds of a DB when using symbolic addressing.  If you try, you find the symbol is not found during compile time, and never at runtime.

[Revising as I cannot state FB7 is the location of the error from the posted diag buffer entry.]
