Dint to Time? Timer unit change?

Hello everybody!

I'm working in an application where I enter a time in seconds into an HMI and I have to set it as an entrance to a couple timers. The program works fine up to 32 seconds, but whenever I try to use 33 seconds or higher values, it all messes up. I get the value from HMI and multiply it to 1000 to get it into miliseconds, but it seems to fail when I use values above 33, in the multiply number it's too big for a dint so it gives me a negative value, so when I introduce it to a timer, it all messes up.

I have two questions, is there any way to convert a DINT into a TIME?

Is it possible to change the unit of a timer from miliseconds into seconds??

By what you are describing, when you are multiplying by 1000 you are in an INT "context"

are you shure your starting tag is of type DINT?

if you have a starting tag of type INT you need to firs convert it to DINT:

time := DINT_TO_TIME( INT_TO_DINT( myHMIsecondsINT ) * 1000 );

 if you are doing just: 

time := DINT_TO_TIME(myHMIsecondsINT * 1000);

 Then the multiplication will happen at INT level, thus messing up values bigger then 32768
