TIA portal v16: How do you get firmware version 2.9 into the PLC?

How did the 2.9 get into PLC? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from firmware 2.9 tia portal v16.

How did the 2.9 get into PLC? The message you have is not an error. It is a notification. The PLC could have been shipped with firmware V2.9, but loaded with Step7 V16 as if firmware V2.8. This is not a problem. The PLC works then in a "compatibility" mode; the CPU react as a V2.8. There is no problem in doing so. There is a limited firmware version range where this is possible. The software will however give an error if the situation blocks you.
