PaglioRR Joined: 10/11/2023 Last visit: 12/3/2025 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I'm working with a SIMATIC IPC477E with a 1507S CPU and WinCC RT Advanced. I have a program on the virtual PLC that is working fine, also the WinCC program is working well. My problem / question is about the startup of the IPC. I explain: when I startup the IPC Windows is starting, the desktop appears and the CPU and WinCC is starting automatically. Good. My problem is that after the startup there is no communication between the PLC and the WinCC program. The PLC is up and running without errors. To solve the problem, I must close the runtime of the WinCC program, start it again and then the communication is up and everything is running fine. Is there anything I can do to avoid this? So that there is immediately communication between the PLC and the WinCC? Can the solution be delay the start of WinCC after the PLC is running?

You could work with a Batch file that waits a few seconds until it starts the RT Loader for the Autostart. Which Version of the WincC Advanced RT do you use exactly (with SP and Upd)? Bye Murof

I did not develop this software, I only received the IPC already functioning and the software file separately. I thought there was some "official" way to manage the start of the PLC or WinCC but I will try with the batch file.

I would go with the delayed start with batch file bye Murof

I don't know what happened recently, but since yesterday, there is no longer any communication between the two. In all variable fields it shows "######". I've tried to restart the IPC but it's the same thing. The CPU is running without error. But, often there's a message on the IPC to say that the " WinCC logging for Runtime Advanced " license key is not available. I don't know if it is the reason but i 've already this message long time before lost communication. Could someone help me and tell me what can i do to fix this please?

Can the PLC be pinged from the IPC? If so, check the PG/PC interface in the Control Panel. It should be set to S7online and the network card (TCP/IP) connected to the PLC. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/11870489 If you can't get this to work, please send screenshots of the PG/PC interface. I think the cause is now clear: if a ping isn't working correctly, no communication can take place. So your PLC has the IP address: 192.168.2.1 What IP address does the PC have? Can the PC be pinged from another PC (on the same network)? This is just to rule out that the network card on the PC itself is working correctly. Is the PC connected directly to the PLC or via a switch/router/hub? If there are other network components in between, you need to check if they are all working correctly. Perhaps try connecting the PC directly to the PLC and check the communication. Best regards, Costanza Good luck with your troubleshooting.
