Simulation between PLCSIM and WinCC: not able to see the value in HMI

Hi, 

I have a similar problem with WinCC and PLCSIM. I am able to simulate values using PLCSIM but not enabled to see the value in HMI. The error keeps showing as No connection to data server and there is a red wrench next to each IO.

You will need to check the settings of the communication driver you use in WinCC. If it is the protocol suite that verifies the configured application access point. If S7ONLINE, you should go to the Adjust PG/PC Interface control panel and check that you have the s7online selected and then the plcsim instead of the network card

Thank you for the insight. Using S7Online, I have set the Access Point of Application to PLCSIM.TCPIP.1. It is a bit confusing, since I am able to do this for a single station configuration. But this problem arise when using server/client architecture.
