Migrate from Step7 To Tia (V16) missing Hardware configuration

The PLC block are migrated successfully, but the Hardware configuration no, It is empty. It shows CPU 315-2PN/DP (unspecific CPU) . Is it normal, or I'm doing something wrong? HW configuration on Simatic manager is compiled ok. thanks

HW configuration on Simatic manager is compiled ok. You CPU in the old project is too old for the TIA version you are using. You should read the Migration log, to get an idea what has happened during the migration. You should always check before migration, if TIA supports the hardware you are migrating.

The Hardware is Step7 300, I would like to manage it with Tia, this is because the panel is new and it is TP900 (that can be programmed only with TIA) The CPU can be managed with TIA. (see picture) Unfortunately I do not find any specific log related to the hardware .. only concerning the software. Try to make two steps in Step7, before migration to TIA. First save the project with Save As, and then click on the box: With Reorganization. This will delete all old remains from the project. After you ave saved it with a new name, then run Check Block consistency. After these steps, try to do the migration again to TIA.

After you ave saved it with a new name, then run Check Block consistency. After these steps, try to do the migration again to TIA. I can't let it working. I tryed also with new empty project. I setup a Rail + CPU + 1 x 16 DI . Compiled Open OB1 , compiled. Migrate with 14 and 16 same result. This is the general log. well... the HW CFG it can be created, but when you create some, a typing error, is always behind the door..... Attachment cfg_hw.png (352 Downloads)

Step7 TIA Portal does not. Some hardware has even been removed in later versions. There is a project where I only needed some FBs and FCs from an old project. Those were exported as STL sources and imported into an S7-300 project in TIA Portal. From there I could copy the code out as LAD blocks into the targeted S7-1200 project. For that project, the recipe handling had to be redesigned to use arrays. You have posted 2 questions recently. Difficult to know how they are related. Difficult to assist you further when there is very little you are sharing.
