Error when transferring STL code from Step7 to TIA Portal

If you search this support site, and these forums about STL migration from step 7 (classic) to TIA Portal, you will probably find references to reading the migration guide which describes the reason(s) for many failures, and especially those related to %L#.#, and most especially any attempts to perform indirect addressing.

Indirect addressing code must be manually migrated (in particular, when transferring it to an s7-1500 PLC) since the STL syntax used in classic step 7 does not work in TIA Portal.

Again, read the TIA Portal migration guide (documentation) in your native language.

If you still are confused after reading the guide and searching these forums, please post a screenshot of your original logic (classic step 7), or paste the STL code using the "Mark as code" option in the forum editor.

When transferring STL code from Step7 to TIA Portal using source files, I get an error when compiling in TIA Portal. I can't understand why there is an error, although the program code works in Step7.

It complains about the line of code %L0.0, I can't fix the error

The %L0.0 address is the absolute address for the temporary (TEMP) area in the code block. In some cases it is possible to create a temporary bit or two and use these in the code as needed.

The problem comes when the code is STL that needs to be converted to LAD. There I am not sure what to do. Do some experiments in TIA where you have LAD that you convert into STL, see how TIA handles it. (Applies only to S7-300 or S7-400 based processors). Or wait for another volunteer to react.

The other problems are where %LW0 and %L0.0 - %L1.7 is used for their overlap properties. That needs a technique change to achieve the same without causing compile issues.
