cannot upgrade my TIA V14 project: Error 0100:000500

So do I. I cannot upgrade my TIA V14 project to V15, V15.1, V16, ... TIA Portal only creates a backup of the upgraded version with the two files in the attachment. What devices (PLC/HMI/VFD, etc) are in your original project? If you create multiple separate projects that only have the individual devices, are you able to upgrade those?
