Hi

I need to upload a program that was done 2 years ago using TIA portal V13 Sp1 (According to the original programmer). The CPU is S7-1511 PN-1. with 7 AO modules and 1 DO module. I tried to upload it using TIA portal V13 but the error "the hardware configuration was created and downloaded with an incompatible version of step 7" appeared. 

Next I did was create the hardware, making sure all the firmware are correct based on the s7-1500 display panel. Tried to upload the program but the same error appeared. Also tried using Unspecified S7-1500 PLC but it failed again.

Next I did was try to upload it using V14. It said that the program used to upload was V13.. So I made a new vmware and tried to upload it with TIA portal V13 only (no SP1). It failed to upload. I tried V12 and it said program used was v13. Now the funny thing is that, when I tried to upload it using V12, I was able to upload the hardware but not the software. The software part i understand since it was downloaded using a higher version of TIA.. What I dont get is why cant I upload the hardware using the same version of it. 

BTW, I can view the program using online access.

I am using V13 SP1 upd 9.. two years ago should be around upd 4 below. If i have different upd, will i be able to upload it? Does it matter if the program downloaded was programmed using TIA PORTAL V13 Step7 Basic and I am uploading it using TIA Portal Step7 Professional?

I have been using siemens software for a while now and this is by far the hardest upload i have encountered.

Yeah, actually that's the only option i can choose when uploading the program. I have also seen that, that's why I have a lot of vmwares with different versions of TIA portal.

 I know this is a very old post, but did you ever solve this?

im having the exact same issue on TIAv13 SP1. Siemens have responded saying I have the correct version but I too cannot upload

Yeah, actually that's the only option i can choose when uploading the program. I have also seen that, that's why I have a lot of vmwares with different versions of TIA portal.
