You can use them starting from S7 400H-CPUs version 3.1 (This is from where redundant IOs were supported). However, I will recommend using at least firmware version3.1.1, (as SFC 51 was changed thenand is used by the red. IO libraries). The library, however is dependent on the IO modules that are used in the project. This is in principle related to the diagnostic capability of the module. The list in theS7-Fault Tolerant system manual(see table 10-2, section 10.5.2, page 146, edition 05/2008)tells which library supports which module. hope it helps.
