While you are searching for sample applications, FAQs, S7-300->1500 migration examples, and Siemens libraries, pay attention to the Siemens LGF for s7-1200/1500 PLCs.  There are functional filters available in that library.

There is also a process library which you may find interesting and/or useful to replace perhaps some internally built blocks to gain increased diagnostics capabilities.

There is also the open-source community, where my current favorite is OSCAT.de where they have an SCL library that can be tweaked and adjusted to work with S7-1500 and in many cases also for s7-1200 PLCs.
