IAFRA Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I know it's incredible, but I fixed this problem updating the "microsoft Edge" web browser. Windows is so frustrating ..... I hate Edge ...... As you can read (sorry it's italian ....) in this link: https://docs.microsoft.com/it-it/troubleshoot/sql/install/error-set-up-update-instances Old Edge versions use some registry keys in a bud way, it makes SQL server installation to crash. Problem is when you install TIA V16 portal you need to install SQL express 2016 too .....

Installed the basic SQL setup from the link Maximiliano Liñan I had the same problem and I had to install SQL 2019 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-sql-server-2019?filetype=EXE

MAD_PID_Controller Member Joined: 5/18/2021 Last visit: 12/2/2025 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Just had this error while installing V19. To get a better log of the error I tried to install SQL 2019 Express. From there I got a error from microsoft OLE DB driver. So I uninstalled all entries of OLE DB driver from windows and had success installing V19.
