Any Insights on Why WinCC Logging Licenses are Marked as "Defective"?

Hello everyone,

I’m currently setting up 22 OnLogic IPCs with "WinCC RT Advanced v17" and "WinCC Logging for RT Advanced" licenses. However, I’m running into an issue where a significant percentage of units have defective logging licenses during testing. Initially, when loading the screens, everything worked fine.

This isn’t the first time my team and I have encountered issues with this specific logging license, and it’s becoming a significant concern. I know how to fix the issue temporarily, but I’m trying to understand why this keeps happening so that I can prevent it from affecting future units.

Unfortunately, the ALM log file offers no insights—there are no mentions of the licenses being marked as defective or any indication of what might be causing this. My coworker had a similar problem, and while the recovery process was logged previously, we still don’t have clarity on the root cause.

Has anyone else encountered this? Any insights into what might be triggering these licenses to fail, or suggestions on how to trace the issue further, would be greatly appreciated.
