Alarms hanging in Event Manager

Chris_PL Joined: 10/12/2023 Last visit: 12/18/2025 Posts: 147 Rating: (13)	Hello We have a problem with the Desigo CC server. It is not possible to acknowledge some alarms (again). There is no alarm on the point anymore, but in the Event Manager it still says Event status: Unprocessed and Source Status: Quiet. I can’t acknowledge. And the alarm in lifesafety is being sent to the control center again and again. I restarted the server (not only the project) and the alarm disappeared. It was the third time something like this had appeared. Source status of alarms is quiet and we can acknowledge it. Only a complete restart of the server helps, for some time... I will add that the last work on the server was the installation of QU2 and increasing the size of the SQL database, along with increasing the value of min (1 year) and max (2 year) retention span for four ArchiveSchedules – I will add that the database does not report any errors and works nicely (capacity now is 240GB). The last server restart was done yesterday before 3pm. This morning the alarms are hanging again, and they cannot be cleared. Have you already encountered such a report and what could be the reason for it? Something with Event Manager, something with bacnet, something with controllers, something with QU2, something with increasing the size of the database? Before installing QU2 and increasing the size of the database, we didn't have any problem with alarms.

Does the acknowledge button not appear for these alarms in the event list or does it just not do anything when pressed? 2. Is this the same alarm appearing every time you restart the server. Same timestamp? Same Points? Same Event ID? 3. “And the alarm in lifesafety is being sent to the control center again and again.” Do you mean it keeps reappearing in the Event list or is it sending a notification somewhere?

What's more, apart from the alarms that are quiet and do not disappear (they cannot be confirmed), in the console, for example, some alarms hang as active, but in reality there is no alarm at the point... 2. Some alarm are the same but it´s happening for new alarms too.. (after some morning tests). 3. I still don't know what exactly is going on with this, because I got this info from a user. Maybe something just popped up in LifeSafety and there was nothing you could do about it either. In any case, the event manager started acting stupid. I've already sent the logs to Support but maybe someone had a similar problem.

Chris_PL Joined: 10/12/2023 Last visit: 12/18/2025 Posts: 147 Rating: (13)	Hey guys. After numerous attempts, we finally did it! It was all about firmware on PXC100-E.D / HW=V3.00. We just updated it from FW=V6.00.336 to FW=V6.00.338 and everything with alarms now working perfectly, damn...

In similar cases, I also updated my firmware version but it did not help. However, the firmware versions I installed were older than FW=V6.00.338. I hope this problem is solved in this latest version. I would be happy if you share the latest status again after enough time has passed. Good luck.

Ronnie.Gila Experienced Member Joined: 5/16/2016 Last visit: 12/19/2025 Posts: 92 Rating: (14)	Worth to note as well since you mention its a PXC controller, if you have trends that clog the controller through bad configuration you can get errors like this as well cause the controller wont be able to respond and update the eventinfo properly. If you select the controller in the fieldnetwork there is a button fairly far down called “get events” grouped together with 2 other buttons. If you push that one you force the controller to refresh all its events. Best regards Ronnie
