VPN connection for remote control of the projects - bbmd

Hello to everyone,

I have 4 different projects in XWP which are 4 different hotels but from the same owner. These hotels are in the same area. Each hotel has many controllers (pxc100, pxc4) and one DCC, so we have about 50 controllers pxc100 and pxc50 with different systems (V6, V6.3), about 10 controllers pxc4 and 4 DCC (these projects have made one per year, not together). All these staff are in the same subnet (10.10.10.xx). The IT team gave me one vpn connection for remote control of the projects. My question is about bbmd controllers. One bbmd per project or one bbmd for all projects?

If i have one bbmd per project is problem for any reason?

Hi,

To be able to connect trough VPN to your IP segment, in one controller in IP Segment FDT must be enabled.

ok but is there any malfunction if i have configure more than one FDT in one ip segment?

I think it wont cause any problems.

You simply have more than one device enabled in which devices from other segment can register via entry in its Foreign Device Table.

When you use VPN you need to put address of controller with enabled FDT to make a connection to the network. (Laptop address assigned by VPN is out of the segment of controllers - thats why you need FDT ).

In your case you can use multiple adresses of controller because they all have FDT enabled.
